Our Doctors

All General Practitioners at this practice have satisfied the training requirements of the Royal Australian College of General Practice and are on the Vocational register of General Practitioners.


We also have General Practitioner Registrars who are completing their higher degree in General Practice Medicine.

Dr Niraj Desai

Dr Desai graduated in 1991 and is a Fellow of the RACGP. Dr Desai has a broad range of medical experience with a special interest in Dermatology, Skin Cancer Management, Paediatrics, aged care and all other aspects of family medicine & childhood health. Dr Desai consults Monday – Friday.

Dr Anne Connell

Dr Anne is a Fellow of the RACGP and an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor. Her particular areas of interest are the diagnosis and management of skin cancer and the provision of long acting contraception (Mirena and Implanon devices).

more She holds a Masters degree in skin cancer and is a Senior Lecturer on the Masters of Medicine (Skin Cancer) program at University of Queensland. She consults on Mondays and Thursday. With effect from 1 July 2019, all skin-related consultations with Dr Anne (save for childhood eczema) will attract an out of pocket cost of $50, irrespective of concession status.

Dr Tahera Adamjee

Dr Adamjee graduated in 1995 and is a Fellow of the RACGP. She has a wide range of medical experience, speaks multiple languages and consults every day except Thursday. She lives locally with her husband and two children.

Dr Charmaine Tay

Dr Charmaine Tay is a Fellow of the RACGP. She has a wide range of medical experience. She has a special interest in Women’s Health, Chronic Disease Management and Children’s Health. Dr Charmaine Tay is currently on Parental Leave.

Dr Maal Yoganathan

Dr Maal is a Fellow of the RACGP and is interested in all aspects of Family Medicine. Dr Maal consults every day except Thursday.

Dr Alyssa McNaught

Dr Alyssa McNaught is a Fellow of the RACGP and has a Diploma in paediatrics. Dr McNaught is interested in all aspects of Family Medicine and is available Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Dr Dhruv Pal

Dr Dhruv Pal graduated in the first cohort of the Doctor of Medicine program from Melbourne University. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Monash University and worked as a hospital pharmacist.
Dr Pal is a Fellow of the RACGP and is interested in all aspects of Family Medicine.

Dr Simon Shirzad

Dr Simon Shirzad is a GP registrar. He graduated in 2014 from Monash University after working as a community pharmacist for over 10 years. Dr Shirzad is completing his advance training in General Practice and is interested in all aspect of general medicine.

more Having previously worked as a Melanoma Fellow at the Victorian Melanoma Service at the Alfred Hospital, he is particularly interested in dermatology and skin cancer. Outside of work, Simon is a father to three children aged from 3 to 11 and they keep him very busy.

Dr. Maria Vartanyan

Maria is first year GP Registrar who graduated overseas in 2009 (Russia) and relocated in Australia in 2013. She has worked with Eastern Health, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Queensland Health with various specialty teams since 2015.

more She is interested in all aspect of general practice and her overseas experience as ENT will serve the needs of our community members suffering from ear, nose and throat issues, as well as vertigo. Maria is fluent in English and Russian. Apart from reading and developing GP knowledge, she likes to spend her time dancing salsa and playing badminton with husband.
